Syllabus Summary
1.0 INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN (CAD)
Students will be able have knowledge on definition of CAD, minimum system requirements and computer hardware, general and special CAD packages used in various field today,advantages of CAD and its application compared to manual/traditional drawing.
2.0 INTRODUCTION TO AUTOCAD FOR WINDOWS
Student will be able to have knowledge on AutoCAD package, commands and data input techniques.
3.0 APPLICATION OF AUTOCAD PACKAGE IN TECHNICAL AND ELECTRICAL DRAWING.
Students will be able to have knowledge on AutoCAD drawing commands, drawing aids, edit commands and display control, concept of dimensioning, line types, text style commands, layer, block and wblock, and able to generate drawing output.

Graduates of diploma in engineering programs at Polytechnics will have knowledge, skills and attitude that will allow them to make tangible contributions and meet new technical challenges. They will possess entrepreneurial skills, practice good work ethics, be able to promote good morality and behavior, and continuously enhance their knowledge and skills. Synopsis
The Diploma in Electronic Engineering (Computer) covers the broad discipline of electronic engineering, with specialization of electronics used in the field of computer based technology. The programme is designed with a broad-based electrical and electronic engineering foundation which includes mathematics, electrical and electronic fundamentals, computer fundamentals and programming, communication system fundamentals, semiconductor devices, wiring installation and computer aided design which provides versatility to the graduates, while emphasizing the area of specialisation towards the end of the programme. The specialization courses include software component such as visual programming and database system and also hardware components such as computer architecture and organization and computer system diagnosis and maintenance. Apart from the technical knowledge and skills, the programme also emphasizes on the development of the individual potential of students in an integrated and holistic manner through courses such as Islamic studies, moral studies, co-curriculum, soft skills and entrepreneurship.
